Combat is a big part of the game and when in combat, people get shot. With supply ship repairing them, warships survive longer in battle, and repair faster out of battle. A good supply ship can make all the difference in a battle.

When resupplying in battle, your task is to save lives. Fly to within 250gu of a friendly player, target them and then press the "Y" key to start reloading. A downside of supply in a battlefield is that supply ships are relatively lightly armed and armored, and supply ships are also a generally a high priority to target to enemy players.

Players also tend to jump out of battle when critically low on health. Often they'll send a resupply distress message, pressing the "H" key will target the sender of the most recent distress message. Find them in the navigation screen by pressing F2 then the spacebar, make sure your jump route is safe and make your way to them.

After someone dies they can usually be found at a shipyard planet getting their ship repaired. You can help your allies go back to battle faster by repairing them at a planet.

When needed, you can also repair yourself by pressing Shift + Y, but you gain no prestige for doing so.

As a supply ship, NEVER expect a person in need of repairs to come to you. They might be busy dodging enemies, or have a recharging jumpdrive, or simply need their attention on something else besides trying to find you. When possible, jump to them instead.
