I can only speak for myself, but if I was online and Kluth were attacking R33 I would rather crash ships into a planet untill I'm a midshipsman again than invade Eri. But I can't really play atm, due to my wifi network at home -.-
I will prolly start playing again next month. We're getting a better connection on 1st March and if the cables arrive tomorrow, we'll have LAN before sunday finally no more fluctuating wifi

Well this has become a very sad thread.
I was one of the 2 dispicable ICC invaders of luth space LOL.
Had 30-40 mins to play, logged on and saw the only ICC on at the time repairing his ship and then heading straight into Eri. So with not much time to play I thought I would go and help him out.
Well then the PM's started coming through, I am assuming Nightmare is Azure Power who is already on my ignore list but I immediately re added him to no avail. The /t's kept coming. A whirlwind hissy fit, followed by threats and name calling. None of which I responded to çept with my guns. We proceeded to cap a couple of planets, big woop.
Could we please get the ignore function rechecked?
As to the rest, I have a life and don't follow the day to day soap drama of DS for months and months on end so no comment. With only 8 players showing on the server and 5 involved in our wee 2 and fro UGTO were /y'n that they had no one to fight so you could not have been up to much else. At least you got a fight, well at least I did LOL.
Edit: I did not really think this encounter was worth the maps or even a post, but I must say, it did amuse me
Very late edit: The ICC player that I did assist is a 100% K'luth player who for whatever reason decided to join ICC for an hour or 2 and attack K'luth. Not gonna name him (he's free to name himself) because this is still amusing me...... just thought worth a mention - u'all take it so personal

Ok so because a player or 2 went to eri, you gonna say to trash the whole ICC faction now?
In any case, even if ICC would ahve went to luyten, UGTO woul have simply came back and take all of it back, plus station spam Tau, Off course luth would just, like usual, pick off the few ship ICC has in that fight

actually if i was the icc what i would have done was attacked luythren and joined with kluth to take out cini and possibly take ugto home systems as well. with ugto on 2 fronts they are screwed i do not care how many stations they field their comes a point where quanity beats quality.
so if ugto station spam you never see more then 10.
6 to 10 kluth plus 6 to 12 icc and PRESTO.
you have 12 to 22 ships possibly shooting the one target trust me that kind of firepower wipes out armor before you can say AH.
take into the fact that icc weapons are great at range and kluth great up close noone can effective fight at such ranges.
of course such logic escapes icc 75 percent of the time and kluth 50 percent of the time.
want a example a player thats leader of eafs has a combat dread and he uses it at extreme close range like its got urber close range firepower and of course exactly 45 seconds later he either retreats with 30 hull or is dead.
what i do expecially with one on one is to stay at 1.2 gu
if someone jumps me i already have a preploted route to take me away from my current to a position say 1k or 1.5k gu away only thing that can hit me at that distance missles or ugto qst (1k gu only as a ugto qst ends at 1050 gu)
that simple fact escapes quite a lot of icc players its sad but funny.
