(Note: Just after the great planet building patch, where def base 3's were added, deathstar's were removed etc.)
[Noob]: Why can't I build defense base threes? I have enough metal.
[Me]: What's the tech level on the planet?

[Me]: Here, let me help *jump to planet, actually fairly well built, the guy obviously had played before the patch and knew some stuff*
[Me]: Here's your problem, you have only 1 research lab, you need more to get more tech level...that 1 will give you 20 tech (10 from colony base, 10 from lab) but you need 90 to get def base 3s
[Noob]: Nuh uh. I've played longer than you, I know you only need a few research labs, not 10
(SideNote: Yes, he did do the math wrong ladies and gentlemen)
[Me]: Fine...don't listen...but why not build some def base 1's for defense?
[Noob]: Idiot, def base 1's are worthless...geez I should report you for stupidity...now why can't I stinking build def base 3's?

...yes, those are both true stories. The first one occured in the noob server, the second was in a server whose name I can't remember. It was a very popular server before the MV for noobs patch, more popular than the noob server at that time...

Ok the, lol, ECM one reminded me of a couple.
About 8 ICC players are going to go ECM bomb. I did what I was told and am in an ECM frig as we go to Nicea.
"Hey turn off PD."
What?
"your point defense"
I have little to no idea what's going on but I look at my sig and its negative, thus far...
Vet: "Hey XYZ in Missle Dred, you need to leave us, you are too big and we don't need you near the planet."
Noobish response: "No."
ASked a lil later, "No!."......."NO!."
(I gotta hand it to him though he had a good argument response, lmao)
So here most of the fleet inches toward the planet and I watch my sig slowly go up and hear more people bicker and complain about the attack, "blah blah blah."
Another Noob asks where we are, then after getting no response he replies later, "ow I see you guys."
He jumps near to the large group that is teatering on the bring of positive sig, the dred finally decides too late to leave, and of course the sig goes up, enemy appear, and well folks everybody scattered and many got owened.
