Os, that looks excellent. Personally, I think it's too similar to the current K'luth station to be anything more than a replacement/advancement model (which I suppose is what you were going for anyway), but very well done.

I never liked the ICC scout, so here's my interpretation of one:
I wanted to be in line with the frigate, so it might resemble one a bit=)

Sanity, your concept art is really good, I'd love to see some more detailed drawing or such of a ship like the one you posted. If you have any modeling experience, don't by shy, and tell us, or perhaps give us a hand with modeling new ships . Or Light-of-Aurora could always model your concept art, great things are done that way.

Well, im very good at form Z and pro E. But my timecards ran out on my programs and at work i never have the time for that. I could do a watercolor painting, do a high res photo and do some crazy photoshop stuff.

Please forgive the incredibly poor drawings but this is my idea for a “shipyard station” class. The shipyard stations would not be playable, they would orbit the home world’s of each faction. These would be the sag keja fleet armoury, bifrost fleet foundry and shi jie shipyards.
Sag Keja fleet armoury:
its basically a current K'luth station with docking clamps added where the side "points" would be.
Bifrost fleet foundry:
completely different design to the current UGTO stations, each side has 2 docking pylons.
Shi Jie shipyards:
this one has shades of the current ICC stations, however it does differ in many ways, most obvious of which is the docking clamps.
The stations will have basically the same systems:
Drives:
-10 IE, to allow them too move at a high enough speed to counter act any attempts at tractoring them into planets, and to provide enough power for the ultra huge weapon banks...
General systems:
-10 aux gens, to power all of those weapons o' course!
-4 eccms, to help counter act ecm tractor scouts.
-4 supply drones.
- 3 of factions specific systems (ie. 3 flux waves, 3 repair nanites(don't think they are called that but i can't remember), 3 pulse shields)
- the all important ship spawning ability too!!( should be able to spawn a dread or smaller)
Weapons:
- 10 Pulse beams (same on all stations not just the ICC one, the reasoning is that they are stolen tech..)
- 10 P-cannons, 360 arc (same reasoning on the K'luth version as the above)
- 10 rail guns, 360 arc
- 10 psi cannons, 360 arc
- 6 P torps, 360 arc
- 6 am torps, 360 arc
- 6 fusion torps (ill quit with the "360 arc" as all of these weapons are "all rounders")
- 10 IT/psi missiles
- 10 AR/ shreader missiles
- 10 cl/ ruptors
-10 Hcl/ A ruptors
- 10 standard fighter for the faction
- 3 core weapons for that faction.
armour/shields
fore: 5 armour/ 4 armour+1 shield
left: " "
right: " "
aft: " "
Good or bad idea? I think it would be good fun, The stations would be AI controled, and it would be very difficult to exploit them due to the masses of weapons and armour/shields, though if a large experianced fleet where to gang up on it, they would stand a good chance at defeating it.
Any way, theres my design, if this where to be implemented (I ain't expecting it too be as this would probably take alot of time and effort for not much of a result) i hope there will be better designs used... cos i ain't ashamed to say mine are rubbish.

i suppose if i took a BD with all lvl 10 particles i could just spend a day smashing spacebar and kill it:P
either way, i think the way its currently setup is better. It would be a cool graphic instead of the jumpgate, but it shouldnt be targetable with tractor beams etc
